Course selection for the 2011-2012 school year 

Counselors will be making presentations during students’ classes to give out course selection sheets and review important information regarding course selection decisions. We will also provide a transcript for each 9th-11th grade student. These key materials should all go home in a blue folder with the student. Parents and Guardians: please note the following dates and look at these materials with your student. Please be sure to read the full instructions that come with the course selection sheets!

Thursday and Friday, March 3 and 4

• 9th grade presentations in IHS classes.
• Sheltered English 1/2 presentation.
  

Thursday and Friday, March 10 and 11

• Presentations in ELD classes and Sheltered English 3.
  

Tuesday and Wednesday, March 15 and 16

• 10th grade presentations in English 2 classes.

Thursday, March 17

• Presentations in English Labs 1 and 2.
  

Tuesday and Wednesday, March 22 and 23

• 11th grade presentations in English 3 classes.

Monday, March 28

•   8th grade presentations at Albany Middle School in English/History classes.      

Tuesday and Wednesday, March 29 and 30

• Advisement Days (for grades 9, 10, and 11 ONLY). Students must bring COMPLETED course selection sheets to school in blue folder along with transcript. Teachers will review choices and make recommendations.

Friday, April 1

• COURSE SELECTION SHEETS ARE DUE FOR CURRENT 10TH AND 11TH GRADERS IN ENGLISH CLASSES.  
  

Monday, April 4

• COURSE SELECTION SHEETS ARE DUE FOR CURRENT 8TH AND 9TH GRADERS IN THE CLASS WHERE YOU HEARD THE COUNSELOR PRESENTATION.

NOTE: Counselors will not be able to make individual appointments with students regarding course selection at this time. Counselors WILL be available on a drop-in basis for advising during lunchtimes on Thursday, March 24, Tuesday, March 29 and Wednesday, March 30. Counselors will be available at Albany Middle School during lunch Thursday, March 31. Dates may be added if the demand is high. In addition, parents and students can email their counselor with questions, and if more follow-up is needed, an appointment may be scheduled.
